Good muslims and Bad muslims: where is the joke?

Have you told anybody that your friend Abdul is a good muslim? Or atleast when you hear about Muslim clashes, you must have told someone sitting beside you that every religion has both good and bad people. That brings us to the topic of good muslims and bad muslims. For example you would argue that Dr. Kalam was a good muslim or Arif Muhammad Khan is a good muslim and Talibanis are just bad muslims (or the one who are maligning islam). What did you miss here? Don't worry, I won't say you missed the train in 1947 😁. Read on. Dr. Kalam was a vegetarian. Most islamic festivals are about meat and meat alone (let's forget the blood and meat of kafirs for the time being). If you are still not sure, you need to know the story behind Eidulfitr. A random Google search will do. Additionally, Dr. Kalam used to go to temples. That is the necessary and sufficient condition to prove that he was not a muslim. Arif Muhammad Khan is another such case. He respects all religions. But the ten...

Why Abdul comes with you to your temples and festivals

Does your neighbour boy Arif come with you to your temples? If yes, then wait there, this article is for you! I will give you possible reasons why he does so: 1. First,  He is an atheist . Yes, he is secretly an atheist or an ex-muslim. (Click here to know the difference between the two.) But for the fear of life or ostracism, he doesn't say it out loud. This is a very straightforward case. 2. Second, He is not muslim-enough . What that means? Well, he is not a madrassa kid, not interested in doing namaz, not gone deep into quran. The problem enters the day he becomes muslim-enough. Because then, he will hate you, your culture, your temples and your very existence as a Hindu. So the wait is for that  day when he will be bad enough to start abusing your culture. A natural question is, when and how will this bad day arrive? Well, that depends on the syllabus of madrassa and since I have never been there, I can't say when your neighbour boy will get radicalised. 3. Third,  H...

Who is a muslim?

Well, anybody would think, what a stupid thing to ask!  The straight forward answer to who a muslîm is might be: a muslîm is someone born into a muslîm family. Because then ofcourse they will learn the islamíc practices and grow into an islamíc person. Now, for the purpose of definition, and to put it in dictionary language, a muslîm is somebody who agrees to abide by the Quran and one who accepts that there is no God but Allah. Yes, that person is a muslîm. This means, one who doesn't agree that there is no God but Allah is not a muslîm. So by definition, you and me are not muslîms. Because we have Rama, Krishna, Shiva, Vishnu and more. But the point is, this also means that those people who are born into a muslîm family but don't believe that there is one and only Allah  is also not a muslîm. If your muslîm friend comes with you to your temple, he is not a muslîm, because that indirectly means he believes in your God and that will mean he doesn't ...
